Getting started with SoloTrack

A short guide for student pilots: install, configure, and log your first flight.

1. Install SoloTrack

SoloTrack is iOS only. Install it on your iPhone or iPad from the App Store.

2. Pick a storage mode

SoloTrack defaults to local-only storage in a SwiftData container on your device. If you want your flights and templates to sync between your own Apple devices, turn on iCloud sync.

You can switch modes later. A restart is required after changing modes.

3. Choose your training stage

SoloTrack adapts defaults to your training stage:

4. Log your first flight

  1. Open Add Flight.
  2. Pick a Quick Entry template (Pattern Work, Local Lesson, Cross-Country) or fill the fields manually.
  3. Enter date, route, Hobbs / Tach, day and night landings, and any category toggles (Solo, Dual Received, Cross-Country, Simulated Instrument).
  4. Tap Save.

The flight rolls into your FAR 61.109 progress and currency calculations automatically.

5. Time a flight as you fly

Start a session before takeoff using the App or an App Shortcut. The Live Activity shows on your lock screen and Dynamic Island; the Home Screen widget shows live stats. When you stop the session, one tap prefills your logbook entry.

SoloTrack supports a single active session at a time.

6. Capture a CFI endorsement

From a flight detail, capture the CFI's number and a PencilKit signature. Endorsed flights are locked to preserve integrity. A void process is available if a record needs correction.

7. Import old flights

Use Import / Export. SoloTrack ships with presets for:

Duplicate detection prevents double entries.

8. Export for a CFI or DPE

Export to PDF for a printable, hand-over-able logbook. Export to CSV (22 columns) for migrating between tools.
